The Albury-Wodonga region offers a variety of sporting and recreational activities for the whole family.
Albury sport and recreation
Popular activities in the Albury-Wodonga region include rugby league, AFL, soccer, tennis, cycling, netball and hockey. Whatever your speed, there are also paths and trails for walking, hiking and riding all around Albury.
Easy grade walking tracks weave between the two cities either side of the river. Cycle or walk at a leisurely pace through Albury’s Wagirra Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk or Wodonga’s picturesque Gateway Island Belvoir Park Track.
Active cyclists will want to hit the more than 90 kilometres of beautiful trails in the region. The bike and walking trails offer adrenalin-charged action and quiet afternoon activity or hilltop climbs with spectacular rest stops. You can also take the path up Monument Hill for the highest view in town and the surrounding hills.
Nail Can Hill is the place to head for unspoiled bush, spring wildflowers and great vistas, and where you’ll find the most avid mountain bikers and trail runners.
Albury has two outdoor swim centres, both with 50-metre pools located in Albury and in Lavington. With lifeguards on duty and excellent facilities including grass and shaded areas, kiosk, picnic and BBQ facilities, the swim centres are ideal venues to cool off with family and friends on a hot day.
