ADF members and families – save the date! ‘Welcome to Tasmania’ is happening and we’d love to see you there!
Posting to Tasmania, or want to get to know more about the local community? We’re holding our welcome expo at ‘Rock It Indoor Rock Climbing Centre’ and all Defence are welcome to join us for a morning of family fun. With a range of community groups and organisations coming along, you can get information about support, assistance and activities available in your area when you need a break from climbing. Come along and meet your local DCO team, as well as the good folk from Dowsing Point Community Centre and other Defence families. Be sure to register by 19 February 2019, as tickets are limited.

The Tasmanian Government’s public transport operator in metropolitan regions is Metro.
Salamanca Shuttle Saturday shuttle bus connects Hobart City Centre with the Salamanca markets.
Regional connections around the state are provided by private bus operators. For more information check out the Tasmania Travel and Information Centre.
Sport and recreation
The Tasmanian Government has a dedicated division within the Department of Premier and Cabinet which overlooks sports and recreation in the state. Communities, Sport and Recreation (CSR) aims to increase opportunities for all Tasmanians to participate in community life and sport and recreation through developing and supporting a vibrant and inclusive sport and recreation sector and fostering Tasmania's high performance athletes.
The City of Hobart also offers plenty of cycling opportunities for both commuters and recreational cyclists.
