The Albury-Wodonga region offers many sporting and recreational activities.
Wodonga sports and recreation
Popular activities include rugby league, AFL, soccer, tennis, cycling, netball and hockey. Whatever your speed, there are also paths and trails for walking, hiking and riding all around Wodonga.
Easy grade walking tracks weave between the two cities either side of the river. Cycle or walk at a leisurely pace through Albury’s Wagirra Yindyamarra Sculpture Walk or Wodonga’s picturesque Gateway Island Belvoir Park Track.
Active cyclists will want to hit the more than 90 kilometres of beautiful trails in the region. The bike and walking trails offer adrenalin-charged action and quiet afternoon activity or hilltop climbs with spectacular rest stops.
- Nail Can Hill is the place to head for unspoiled bush, spring wildflowers and great vistas, and where you’ll find the most avid mountain bikers and trail runners.
With temperatures topping 40 degrees in Wodonga during summer, swimming is a great way to cool off. There is an indoor pool located at the Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre and an Olympic-sized outdoor heated pool located at the Wodonga Aquatic Venue and Exercise Space (WAVES). Lake Hume also offers great swimming spots.
