Swanbourne is located on the edge of Campbell Barracks. Homes in the surrounding suburbs are sought-after due to proximity to the inner city and the beach.

Karrakatta is located within the City of Nedlands and 7 km west of the CBD. The Irwin Barracks are located north of the Fremantle railway line, which passes through the suburb.
Rockingham – Fleetbase West
Rockingham is 10-15 minute drive from HMAS Stirling and is a relatively large city which includes the suburbs of Secret Harbour, Port Kennedy and Baldivis. Rockingham is predominately a ‘blue collar’ area and has a medium to high-level of rental properties available to suit all budgets.

Defence postings in the Pilbara and northern WA area include RAAF Base Learmonth (Exmouth), Geraldton and Karratha (Pilbara). The Karratha Visitor Centre is a useful resource that provides regional information, attractions, activities and things to do in the West Pilbara coast and Karratha region.
Housing in Perth
As Perth grows, the council and town planners are turning to high density living to provide housing in suitable locations. High density means building on smaller blocks of land, or building up. Examples of strata living include free standing dwellings in a gated community, duplexes, apartments and townhouses. Approximately 30% of DHA properties in Perth are part of a strata plan.
If you are new to strata living, please consider the by-laws and/or house rules that are available against the property in Online Services, and DHA's need to comply with legislation when deciding if a property is right for you.

2020 Annual Review of ADF Accommodation assistance and contributions
The outcome of the annual review of ADF members’ accommodation assistance and contributions is anticipated to be reflected in members’ salaries during February 2020.
Members may see an increase or decrease in their Defence accommodation related contributions and allowances for Service Residences, Living-in accommodation, Rent allowance, meal allowance and other allowances and charges.
Members will be notified of any changes prior to their salary changing through a range of Service notification channels including Service Newspapers, Defgram and Signal.
Director Military Conditions and Housing Policy, Mr Derek Cox, acknowledged the importance of this annual review.
“Defence undertakes the annual review to ensure the Defence requirement of sharing the national cost of housing with ADF members on a 50/50 basis is met each year,” Mr Cox said.
These annual changes to contributions and charges are based on movement in the broader rental market, Consumer Price Index and national average meal costs.
Members with questions about the annual review of accommodation assistance and contributions should speak to their chain of command or visit the Pay and Conditions Manual (PACMAN).
Approximately 1.834 million.
